Athletic Trainer – Certified (Direct Hire)

The Judge Group | Permanent Placement

Schedule:

  • Varies based on sports and event schedules
  • Weekends: Rotating based on athletic coverage needs
  • Holidays: Rotating

Overview:
The Judge Group is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer for a full-time, direct hire opportunity. This role provides injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services for athletes and active individuals, while also supporting wellness programming and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide athletic training services for schools, athletic programs, and community events
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal injuries under physician direction
  • Deliver first aid and emergency care during practices and athletic events
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs (taping, bracing, conditioning)
  • Manage return-to-play decisions in accordance with clinical guidelines
  • Maintain accurate injury tracking and medical records

Athletic Coverage & Program Management

  • Coordinate and provide coverage for practices and interscholastic events
  • Develop emergency action plans for athletic venues
  • Maintain athletic training budgets, supplies, and equipment
  • Build relationships with physicians, coaches, and school staff
  • Provide training and education on CPR/AED, concussion protocols, heat illness, etc.

Wellness & Fitness Responsibilities

  • Evaluate clients for exercise readiness and fitness programming
  • Design and implement individualized exercise programs
  • Educate clients on fitness, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle habits
  • Assist with personal training programs and wellness initiatives
  • Lead exercise classes and support community health programming

Patient Care & Education

  • Educate athletes, patients, and families on injury care and prevention
  • Provide guidance on rehabilitation, recovery, and performance optimization
  • Serve as liaison between patients, physicians, and care teams
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of injuries and treatments
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare, school, and regulatory policies
  • Track outcomes and report progress to appropriate stakeholders

Safety & Operations

  • Maintain safe and clean treatment and fitness environments
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
  • Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Support daily operations including opening/closing facilities

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field required
  • Certification: Certified Athletic Trainer (NATA/BOC) required
  • Licensure: Valid state licensure (if applicable)
  • Certifications: CPR & Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Other: Valid Driver’s License required
  • Preferred: Personal Training Certification

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Expertise in taping, bracing, and injury prevention techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Comfortable working with all age groups (youth through geriatric)
