Trifecta Proven is recruiting for an Athletic Trainer to provide services at the Portland Air National Guard Base, OR. Athletic Trainer will work as part of the Human Performance Optimization Program with the 125th Special Tactics Squadron. The Athletic Trainer is part of a multi-disciplinary team aiming to prepare service members physically and mentally so they are optimized for mission readiness and sustained peak performance, while minimizing injury and maximizing return-to-duty efficiency.

Hours: Monday thorugh Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. including a one hour lunch break.

 

Job Responsibilities

Injury Evaluation & Immediate Care

Perform musculoskeletal injury evaluations, including orthopedic assessments, functional movement screenings, and mechanismofinjury analysis.
Provide acute injury management during training events, including taping, splinting, wound care, and emergency stabilization.
Deliver onsite triage and immediate care to minimize downtime and support operational continuity.

Rehabilitation & Reconditioning

Develop individualized rehabilitation programs for service members recovering from musculoskeletal injuries.
Implement evidencebased therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and progressive returntoactivity protocols.
Track rehabilitation progress and collaborate with Physical Therapists, Strength & Conditioning Coaches, and medical providers to ensure safe returntoduty.

Injury Prevention & Human Performance Support

Conduct movement analyses to identify biomechanical inefficiencies and injury risk factors in highdemand tactical tasks.
Implement targeted injuryprevention strategies, including mobility training, corrective exercise, warmup routines, and durability protocols.
Support the development of periodized training plans by providing insight into load management, recovery needs, and physical readiness trends.

Operational Training Integration

Observe and support unit training events (e.g., obstacle courses, rucking, combatives, airborne operations) to identify physical stressors and provide realtime corrective coaching.
Offer embedded support within the training environment to enhance accessibility and reduce injury risk.
Provide recommendations to commanders and training cadre on injury trends, risk mitigation, and program improvements.

Education & Performance Coaching

Deliver briefings, workshops, and smallgroup instruction on injury prevention, recovery strategies, hydration, load management, and tactical performance optimization.
Educate service members on selfcare techniques, proper movement mechanics, and performanceenhancing habits.
Assist in developing SOPs, policies, and best practices related to musculoskeletal health and physical readiness.

Documentation, Compliance & Reporting

Maintain accurate, compliant documentation of evaluations, treatments, and rehabilitation progress in accordance with DoD, Air National Guard, and Trifecta Proven standards.
Ensure all care meets the highest standards of quality, accountability, and ethical practice.
Provide datadriven reports on injury patterns, readiness metrics, and program effectiveness.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field from a CAATE accredited program.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of expereince working with high-performance, tactical, military, or athletic populations. Demonstrated experience in injury evaluation, rehabilitation, and performance-focused athletic training. Experience working in multi-disciplinary performance environments preferred.

Certification: Must hold certification as an athletic trainer.

Life Support Certification: Possess a current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification. May be obtained prior to start if not currently certified.

Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
