Position Summary
Perform Certified Athletic Training duties in the Therapy clinic.
Job-Specific Responsibilities
Provide a high level of medical service including, but not limited to, emergency care, prevention, assessment, referrals, treatment, and rehabilitation to athletes.
Ensure emergency readiness at all sanctioned practices and events.
Provide effective written and oral communication between athletes, coaches, sports performance staff, administrators, as well as the multi-disciplinary medical team regarding the status and progress of athletes.
Maintain athlete confidentiality of team physician treatments plans and medical records. Other athletic training administrative duties as assigned.
Clinic duties will include assisting Concussion patients, Physical and Hand Therapists with patient care in our Lynchburg and/or Forest, Virginia multi-specialty offices.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrate ability to perform athletic training duties effectively and efficiently, including emergency care, injury assessment, documentation, treatment and rehabilitation.
Determine and respond to the needs of athletes in a timely manner.
Demonstrate understanding of the athletic trainers' role as part of a comprehensive sports medical team for all athletes and patients; and communicate effectively to all involved persons.
Demonstrate understanding of policies and procedures pertaining to operations of an athletic training facility and orthopedic clinic.
Ability to represent OrthoVirginia in the community professionally, including wearing an OrthoVirginia uniform.
Experience/Education/Certifications:
Current NATABOC certification
Valid Virginia state licensure, or eligible
Experience working as a Certified Athletic Trainer specific to available ATC position, including level of play, sport and athlete demographic, preferred.
Sports Performance background preferred
CSCS background preferred
Master's Degree, preferred
Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position
