1. Provides athletic training services to local school districts, community organizations, and business partners.
- Coordinates athletic training coverage for interscholastic practices, competitions, and special events.
- Develops and manages the budget for athletic training supplies and equipment.
- Establishes daily operating schedules for athletic training services at assigned schools and within the Wellness Center.
- Develops and maintains venue-specific Emergency Action Plans (EAPs).
- Implements and oversees an athletic training student aide program in accordance with school policies and applicable state regulations.
- Builds and maintains collaborative working relationships with the designated team physician, community healthcare providers, and school nursing staff.
- Completes all required school system training, including Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan training, and complies with established regulations.
- Maintains accurate and confidential documentation of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation services.
- Adheres to all school district policies and procedures related to healthcare services.
- Coordinates and provides educational opportunities for coaches on topics including CPR/AED, concussion management, heat illness, sudden cardiac arrest, and other athlete safety initiatives.
2. Oversees the daily operation of the Wellness Center, including member support and program implementation.
- Reviews membership and program participation paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
- Instructs clients on the safe and proper use of exercise equipment and provides appropriate exercise modifications when needed.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized exercise programs to support client health and wellness goals.
- Monitors the facility to maintain a safe environment and reports equipment or facility maintenance concerns.
- Plans and leads group fitness and wellness classes.
- Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the Wellness Center and its equipment.
- Opens and closes the Wellness Center according to established procedures.
3. Develops and implements safe, effective exercise programs that promote health, wellness, injury prevention, and improved functional performance.
- Performs initial client assessments and develops individualized exercise prescriptions.
- Works directly with clients to provide guidance, monitor progress, and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Assists with promoting and introducing new wellness programs and services.
4. Provides education and resources to patients, clients, and families to encourage healthy lifestyle choices and improve overall wellness.
- Educates clients and families on exercise principles, wellness strategies, lifestyle modifications, procedures, and follow-up recommendations in accordance with department policies.
- Communicates client progress with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and colleagues through appropriate documentation, meetings, and ongoing communication.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop educational resources and wellness materials.
- Provides approved in-service education and training for coworkers and other departments as requested.
