What We Offer:

Under the supervision of a physician, the Athletic Trainer Certified / Orthopedic Tech Certified is for an experienced athletic training position with clinical responsibilities for direct patient contact. Primarily, for the evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology consistent with the scope and practice of athletic training clinical competencies as defined by the NATABOC and the State of North Carolina Athletic Training Credentialing Board. Under the supervision of a physician, the position is to have certification for an Orthopedic Technologist in addition to Athletic Trainer. Primary responsibility of OTC is to include surgical assist duties in either the operating room or in clinical in-office procedures.

 

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with half-days every Friday (ending around 12:00–1:00 PM). 

What We're Looking For:

Education:  4 Year / Bachelors Degree,required. Graduate from an accredited undergraduate or graduate athletic training program. Graduate Degree, preferred.

Experience:  Minimum of two years experience as a Athletic Trainer, required.  Complete the Practitioner Support Staff credentialing application (www.nhcredentialing.org).

Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096.

Licensure/Certification:  Pass NATA BOC exam, required.  Orthopedic Technologist certification, required.
Additional Skills/Requirements (required):  Complete the PractitComplete the Practitioner Support Staff credentialing application (www.nhcredentialing.org).Excellent Customer Service, Written and Oral Communication, basic computer application skills, and ability to multitask. Hold or ability to hold appropriate state licensure. Training and skills to surgically assist physician in the operating room.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide exceptional orthopedic and sports medicine patient care, including evaluations, injury assessments, rehabilitation, and patient education.
  • Room patients, obtain medical histories and vital signs, perform musculoskeletal assessments, and assist with treatment planning.
  • Assist physicians in clinic and the operating room, including first-assisting with orthopedic procedures and supporting in-office procedures.
  • Apply casts, splints, braces, orthotics, and other durable medical equipment while educating patients on proper use.
  • Coordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, follow-up care, and maintain accurate patient documentation.
  • Support sports medicine outreach, injury prevention programs, athletic event coverage, and community wellness initiatives.
  • Help maintain clinical supplies, support quality improvement efforts, and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered team focused on delivering an outstanding patient experience.
