    Overview: The U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) is implementing the Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) System to improve Soldier readiness, resilience, and deployability. SRI is seeking an Athletic Trainer to serve as a member of an interdisciplinary H2F Performance Team supporting the 9th Mission Support Command. The position will be primarily located at Fort Shafter Flats, Honolulu, Hawaii, with recurring travel throughout the Pacific region. The Athletic Trainer will provide injury-prevention, reconditioning, education, and human-performance support designed to reduce musculoskeletal injury risk and improve Soldier readiness.

    Tasks & Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and adapt injury-prevention assessments and reconditioning programs for Soldiers across varying risk levels.
    • Develop educational resources addressing injury-risk assessment, recovery techniques, and reconditioning.
    • Train Soldiers in evidence-based recovery and reconditioning techniques.
    • Support efforts to reduce the incidence and severity of musculoskeletal injuries.
    • Assist Soldiers returning from injury with appropriate reconditioning and readiness activities.
    • Coordinate with the Strength and Conditioning Coach and unit medical personnel to develop and implement appropriate reconditioning strategies.
    • Coach and assist H2F Integrators and medical personnel.
    • Provide technical guidance and hands-on instruction related to injury-risk assessment, prevention, recovery, and physical readiness.
    • Collaborate with other HPT members to integrate injury prevention and recovery into holistic Soldier performance programs.
    • Develop and contribute to educational curricula, resource libraries, reports, and other H2F program deliverables.
    • Travel to supported Army Reserve locations throughout the Pacific region as required.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's or Doctoral degree in Athletic Training from a college or university accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
    • Master's degree in a related field such as Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or another related discipline, as specified by the Government requirement.
    • Successful completion of the Board of Certification examination for Athletic Trainers.
    • Current Athletic Trainer, Certified (ATC) credential.
    • Sports performance and injury-prevention certifications preferred.
    • Minimum of three years of relevant post-graduate experience within the last four years providing injury-risk assessments, reconditioning education, or sports-performance enhancement services to athletes, military personnel, or other high-performing populations.
    • Current, valid, unrestricted professional license as required for contract performance.
    • Must maintain all required professional credentials, certifications, and licenses throughout employment.
    • Must be willing and able to travel regularly within CONUS and OCONUS locations, including locations throughout the Pacific region.

    Security Clearance Requirements:

    Secret. Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess or be able to obtain and maintain the required SECRET security clearance/Tier 3 eligibility.
