    McHenry Community High School District 156 is seeking dependable individuals to assist with after-school, evening, and weekend athletic events. Event workers ensure games run smoothly providing essential operational support. This is a temporary position; there are no benefits associated with this position, and there are no daily, weekly, monthly and/or annual guaranteed hours. As a temporary position, it is also not guaranteed from year to year.

    Terms of Employment:
    • Responsible To: Athletic Director or designee
    • Location: District Athletic Event Locations
    • Compensation: A stipend rate that depends upon event and assignment. Please see the MCHSEA collective bargaining agreement for more information.
    • Schedule / Hours: Depending on assignment


    Responsibilities / Duties:

    Duties vary depending on assignment, but may include:
    1. Manage admissions and ticket sales at entry gates.
    2. Operate scoreboards, game clocks, and tracking systems.
    3. Deliver public-address announcements during athletic contests.
    4. Assist with event setup, crowd direction, and general event support.
    5. Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for all spectators.
    Desired Qualifications:
    1. General knowledge and understanding of high school athletic sporting events.
    2. Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with the public.
    3. High level of reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
    4. Flexible availability for weekday evenings and occasional weekends.
    Physical Requirements:
    1. Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
    2. Ability to work in various noise environments including indoor gyms and outdoor stadiums (involving the ability to stoop, bend, and reach as needed).
    3. Ability to move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
    4. Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting.
