Qualifications: I. Hold valid West Virginia Professional Certification in grades 05-09.

  1. Preference for individuals who hold a valid Administrator's Certification.
  2. Preference for individual currently assigned to school staff.
  3. 5 years teaching, coaching, or school administrative experience, preferred.
  4. Strong leadership and communications skills
  5. Attendance required at home contests and expected at in-county athletic events (including conference playoffs) of which designated middle school participates or hosts.
  6. Ability to relate to students, staff, parents, and the community in a positive manner. Length of Employment: 2026-2027 School Year Responsibilities:
  7. Organize and administer the overall program of extracurricular athletics, both intramural and interscholastic.
  8. Provide leadership in the selection, assignment, and evaluation of athletic coaches and staff members.
  9. Foster good school-community relations by keeping the community aware of and responsive to the athletic program.
  10. Assume responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all interscholastic athletic events.
  11. Hire officials, team physicians, and policemen as required, and assume general responsibility for the proper supervision of home games.
  12. Arrange transportation for athletic contest participants.
  13. Arrange provision for meals for athletes and coaches when opponent is 50 miles or more from a district boundary line.
  14. Develop and place into operation appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of athletic activities.
  15. Establish the physical and academic requirements of eligibility for participation in each sport and verifies each athlete's eligibility. I 0. Prepare and administer the athletic program budget.
  16. Requisition program supplies and equipment.
  17. Supervise all ticket sales and fund-raising events of the athletic program and assume responsibility for the proper handling of funds.
