Schedule/Hours: Monday-Saturday - Full-time 37.5 hours per week
This position is responsible for:
Develops, coordinates and monitors the athletic programmatic operations of The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (RJKCCC); implements programs based on community need and athletics trends; complies with established policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations; assists with the research and preparation of grant proposals in order to secure program funding based on the needs of the center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises, monitors, and provides oversight to the day-to-day program activities of the gymnasium, track, and field; and ensures that operations run smoothly and in compliance with established procedures; conducts performance evaluations and makes salary and hiring/firing recommendations for athletic staff.
- Ensures athletic programs are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety.
- Performs consistent, high quality customer service. Provides continuous feedback to promote a positive experience for the center participants.
- Coordinates, supervises, schedules, trains and orients athletic support staff, seasonal/part-time staff, and athletic volunteers.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- Ability to read, write and communicate the English language
- Ability to perform duties with a combination of frequent sitting, standing and walking
- Physical effort required associated with walking, running, standing, and moderate-to-advanced weight lifting in a fitness center environment.
- Work is performed in a normal office environment, gym or sports field environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

- High School Diploma required with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Physical Education or a related field preferred, AND
- three years administering recreation programs OR
- any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Driver's License and eligible driver status under TSA Driver Program
- C.P.R. and First Aid Certification (upon hire)
