Client Overview:
Our client, a growing professional services organization, is seeking an experienced Assurance Manager to join their Audit and Assurance practice.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$110k - $140k

Position Overview:
This Assurance Manager role will oversee audit engagements from planning through completion, manage client relationships, and provide leadership and development to staff. The ideal candidate will have strong public accounting experience, a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and GAAS, and the ability to manage multiple engagements while maintaining high-quality client service.

Responsibilities of the Assurance Manager:
  • Manage audit and assurance engagements from initial planning through completion.
  • Oversee multiple engagements across a variety of industries and client environments.
  • Develop engagement strategies, timelines, budgets, and staffing plans.
  • Apply U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and applicable professional standards throughout the audit process.
  • Review audit workpapers, financial statements, schedules, and other engagement documentation.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide feedback to staff and senior team members.
  • Identify and communicate audit findings, internal control matters, and areas for improvement.
  • Monitor engagement budgets, deadlines, and overall progress.
  • Maintain strong relationships with assigned clients and serve as a key point of contact.
  • Assist with engagement proposals, planning, and other business development initiatives as needed.
  • Ensure engagements are completed accurately and in accordance with firm and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to internal training, knowledge sharing, and professional development initiatives.
Required Experience/Skills for the Assurance Manager:
  • 5 - 10 years of public accounting experience with a focus on audit or assurance.
  • CPA license or CPA-eligible status.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and applicable auditing standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines.
  • Experience reviewing work performed by staff and senior-level professionals.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with accounting and audit software.
  • Experience performing responsibilities at the Assurance Manager or Audit Manager level.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Assurance Manager:
  • Prior experience as an Assurance Manager or Audit Manager in public accounting.
  • Experience with complex or multi-entity engagements.
  • Background with a mid-sized or national public accounting firm.
  • Strong client-facing and relationship management experience.
  • Exposure to business development, proposals, or client growth initiatives.
  • Experience within a particular industry or specialized audit area is a plus.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
