About the Role:Teach O Rea Preparatory in Stone Mountain, GA is looking for a passionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our growing team! This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners while working alongside experienced educators in a nurturing, prep-focused environment.
Responsibilities:- Support the lead teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Supervise and assist students during classroom instruction, transitions, and daily routines
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment for all students
- Provide individualized attention and support to students who need additional guidance
- Assist with classroom setup, materials preparation, and maintaining an organized learning space
- Communicate effectively with lead teachers, staff, and parents regarding student progress and needs
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as needed
Requirements:- High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Previous experience working with children in a classroom, childcare, or educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and staff
- Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach to working with young learners
- Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a teaching team
- Must pass a background check in accordance with Georgia state requirements
