Assistant Softball Coach, USCA Athletics
The University of South Carolina Aiken, an NCAA Division II Institution, is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach. Under the direction of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting with all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division II program. The successful candidate will recruit student-athletes who have the ability to succeed academically and athletically, while promoting, developing, and maintaining positive relationships with the faculty, staff, students, and community. In addition, the Assistant Coach will assist in fundraising, organizing and running team practices, weight training, and conditioning sessions, and will coordinate study halls and other academic support areas for the student-athletes along with other duties as assigned by the head coach. The duties will be done in strict compliance with USC Aiken, Peach Belt Conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Preferred: Master's degree and three years of collegiate coaching experience preferred. This is a 12.0 month full-time position. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree and three years of collegiate coaching experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of sport rules and regulations as well as NCAA rules and regulations. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills. Professional and personal integrity.
Job Duties
Job Duty
Assists the head coach with training, teaching and instructing all aspects of an NCAA DII level program, including practice and play schedules as defined by NCAA rules.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 40 Job Duty
Assists in implementing a successful recruiting program to attract outstanding student-athletes, including off-campus evaluations and contacts, phone calls, email communications, etc. Conduct all aspects of the program within the rules, regulations, compliance and procedures of the NCAA, Peach Belt Conference, Department of Athletics policy manual and the University's processes and procedures. Knowledge and understanding of all eligibility and recruiting requirements for NCAA, PBC and USCA admissions standards.
Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 40 Job Duty
Assist with administrative functions, including but not limited to team travel arrangements (transportation, hotels, meals); equipment and uniform purchases and monitoring budgets related to recruiting costs and travel.
