Position Description Advertised Job Summary Assistant Professor or Instructor of Foreign Language. Appointment beginning Fall 2026. A minimum of a Masters degree and 18 hours of related graduate work is required. The successful candidate will have experience teaching Spanish and at least one other foreign language course at the college level. A successful candidate must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Courses may be offered face-to-face at the Allendale or Walterboro campus, hybrid online, off-campus locations, and day or evening. The teaching load is typically twelve (12) contact hours per semester. Student advising, mentoring, and participation in campus committees are expected. USC Salkehatchie is part of USCs Palmetto College, which involves offering four-year degrees through asynchronous online courses. Summer teaching opportunities are available, depending on funding and curricular need.

Required Education and Experience A minimum of a Masters degree and 18 hours of foreign language graduate hours is required. The successful candidate will have experience teaching Spanish and at least one other foreign language course at the college level. The ability to teach must be approved through USC, Columbia.
