Starting Salary: $130,560; Grade: GY-14

The Assistant Engineer of Water Pumping (AEWP) provides critical technical and management support for the Bureau of Water Pumping's 12 Pumping Stations, 2 intake cribs, and approximately 195 staff. The position supports the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of BWP's 24/7 water pumping system through coordination of daily operations, engineering activities, regulatory compliance, capital and maintenance projects, fiscal responsibilities, and field activities. The AEWP serves as an important link between station operations, engineering, trades, contractors, regulatory agencies, and senior management, helping ensure operational issues are addressed promptly, projects remain aligned with system needs, and BWP continues to meet its operational, maintenance, and regulatory responsibilities

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires an applicant to successfully complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position based on the written and oral assessment, will be selected.
