    About the Role / Position Summary
     
    As an Associate Vice President of Institutional Sales, you play a key role in growing FEG’s institutional business by originating new client opportunities, building relationships in targeted markets, and helping advance prospective clients through the sales process. This role is responsible for developing market knowledge, sourcing qualified opportunities, maintaining disciplined follow-up, and partnering with advisors, marketing, and firm leadership to convert relationships into long-term partnerships. The AVP combines independent business development activity with cross-functional collaboration and may help mentor junior sales professionals or support sales process discipline across the team.

    What You’ll Do / Position Responsibilities
    Core Areas of Responsibility
    Sales Strategy
    • Develop and execute sales plans for assigned institutional target markets, including endowments and foundations, healthcare organizations, nonprofit entities, and other institutional investor segments.
    • Support the ongoing refinement of FEG’s target market strategy through market intelligence, prospect feedback, and pipeline observations.
    • Define, maintain, and prioritize targeted prospect lists within assigned market segments and geographic regions.
    • Identify emerging opportunities, market trends, and areas for business expansion where FEG may be competitively positioned.
    • Collaborate with advisors, consultants, marketing, and sales enablement professionals to create and execute coordinated business development initiatives.
    • Contribute to conference, event, and thought leadership strategies designed to increase FEG’s visibility in target markets.
     
    Business Development & Relationship Management
    • Source prospective clients through outbound prospecting activities, including meetings, calls, digital correspondence, networking, referrals, and industry events.
    • Build and maintain relationships with institutional decision-makers, consultants, search firms, and centers of influence to create future sales opportunities.
    • Drive consistent follow-up activity to support inclusion in RFP opportunities, finalist presentations, and consultant search processes.
    • Leverage industry knowledge and relationship networks to identify opportunities ahead of formal searches where possible.
    • Partner with advisors and consultants on market coverage efforts, conference strategy, and prospect outreach activities.
    • Represent FEG with credibility, professionalism, and energy at industry conferences, association meetings, networking forums, and sales meetings.
    • Maintain accurate CRM records and use sales technology platforms, including HubSpot and Microsoft Dynamics, to support prospect segmentation, activity management, relationship mapping, pipeline reporting, and disciplined follow-up.
     
    Market Development & Collaboration
    • Develop expertise within assigned institutional market segments and maintain a strong understanding of prospect organizations, industry trends, and competitive dynamics.
    • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales Enablement, Pipeline, Consulting, and Portfolio Management teams to improve market awareness and prospect engagement.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support targeted marketing campaigns, hosted events, sponsored conferences, and other business development initiatives.
    • Share market intelligence, prospect feedback, and competitive observations with internal teams to inform positioning and outreach strategy.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes, CRM adoption, relationship mapping, and business development best practices.
     
    What We Require / Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • 8+ years of successful institutional sales, business development, relationship management, investment consulting, asset management, or related financial services experience.
    • 3+ years of experience prospecting and sourcing new institutional client opportunities.
       • Proficiency with HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar CRM and sales enablement platforms required.
    • Demonstrated success building professional relationships that resulted in measurable business development outcomes.
    • Experience operating in a goal-oriented, client-facing environment.
    • Knowledge of institutional investing, investment consulting, OCIO services, asset management, or a related financial services industry.
