The Associate Vice President, Financial Planning and Business Transformation reports to the VP of Finance and CFO and will manage the budget, procurement, and business intelligence functions at the college. The AVP brings deep financial expertise, advances data-driven decision making, and fosters a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. The AVP leads strategic, high-impact projects designed to streamline financial operations and processes. This senior, cross-functional leadership role focuses on driving efficiency through automation and efficiencies while aligning finance functions with overall strategy. In addition, the AVP will work closely with the Controller’s team, human resources, information technology, facilities, and all departments throughout the college as required to support the VP of Finance. This is an important role that requires accuracy, attention to detail, and solid quantitative and analytical competency.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Develop and monitor key financial metrics to be used in assessing and communicating the financial health of the college.
  • Ensure sound fiscal stewardship, transparency, and operational excellence across the College.
  • Participate in the preparation and presentation of executive-level presentations and financial reports as required.
  • Develop, implement, and control effective integrated policies, practices, and systems for budgeting and reporting on revenues, expenditures, and adjustments to the operating and capital budgets.
  • Develop approaches to achieve efficiencies through technology and data analytics while aligning finance functions with overall strategy.
  • Supervise the work of the the Budget, Procurement and Business Intelligence Directors to ensure all functions operate smoothly and effectively.
  • Assist in the development of strategies to enhance revenue and reduce expenses, to enable redeployment of resources.
  • Manage specific projects for the VP of Finance as required.
  • Assist the VP of Finance with the management of the Finance Committee. 
  • Evaluate business processes for effectiveness and efficiency, while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
     

QUALIFICATIONS – Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field required
  • 15+ years of experience in finance, tax, budget management, risk management, and compliance, and debt and capital planning required. Experience in a higher education environment preferred
  • CPA certification required
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required

IN-OFFICE EXPECTATIONS

This position is primarily a hybrid role with expected days in the office each week.


The hybrid arrangement will be made upon hire. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Boston campus to ensure operational effectiveness. This arrangement must be approved as outlined in the Remote Work Policy

Compensation: $196,750.00 - $255,700.00 annually, commensurate with experience.
