Office Status: Hybrid New York, NY

Base Salary: $90k $135k + Bonus

ABOUT THE ROLE

This Associate-level opportunity sits within the Risk Data Management function of a leading global financial institution, focused on executing data governance initiatives, improving operational data quality, and supporting BCBS 239 compliance across the Risk department. The role offers meaningful exposure to data stewardship, data lineage documentation, and risk reporting quality assurance making it an ideal fit for an early-to-mid career data practitioner with financial services experience who combines technical proficiency with strong communication skills and a collaborative, cross-functional mindset.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute data governance initiatives and improve operational data quality across the Risk department;support implementation of BCBS 239 compliance requirements
  • Act as a data steward promoting accepted data definitions, common reference data, and sound data usage practices aligned with regulatory requirements and CDO policies
  • Define, monitor, and maintain the Risk department's data assets;establish inventories of key data outputs and elements, document data lineage, and define and monitor data quality controls
  • Establish KPIs for data quality and regularly produce data quality scorecards;leverage Collibra or equivalent data governance platforms to capture governance artifacts
  • Identify data quality issues and work with the CDO team and internal stakeholders to resolve them;ensure risk reporting is accurate, complete, and delivered to the right stakeholders on time
  • Participate in data quality issue resolution initiatives and collaborate cross-functionally across risk, technology, and data teams
  • Ensure appropriate awareness and escalation of issues as they arise across lines of defense
  • Communicate business ideas and findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences across the organization
