    Job Description

    Overview

    Schedule Part Time

    Monday-Friday; primarily Tuesdays/Fridays

    10:00 am - 3:00PM

    hours can vary; based on business needs (ext. PTO coverage)

    Primary Responsibilities

    • This position oversees patient flow from point of entry to destination and ensures timely, accurate and professional services.
    • This position is responsible for timely and accurate resolution of patients' accounts.
    • Responsibilities may include but are not limited to obtaining specific information to generate accurate financial and demographic records, insurance verification, prior authorization, and coordination of benefits.
    • Communicate with payers and patients to achieve accurate financial information.
    • Responsible for accurate registration of patients, scheduling recurring appointments, answers incoming calls and directs patient and visitors appropriately.
    • Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains performance improvement activities as required.
    • Participate in all infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
    • Orders, distributes and maintains designated and appropriate inventory of department related supplies.
    • The position adheres to departmental productivity, quality and service standards in support of operational goals.

    Requirements

    • High School Diploma/GED is required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 0-3 years Customer Service/Medical experience desired.
    • Minimum one-year medical office experience or combination of extensive customer service work experience and education in insurance verification, patient registration and medical terminology preferred.
    • Requires basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, TEAMS).
