Associate Professor

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at LSU Health Shreveport seeks a highly motivated Associate Professor to develop and maintain an independent, externally funded research program in biochemistry, molecular biology, cancer biology, or related biomedical sciences. The successful candidate will contribute to graduate and medical education, mentor trainees, and participate in departmental, institutional, and professional service activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Maintain an active, nationally recognized, externally funded research program. • Publish high-impact scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals. • Teach and participate in medical, graduate, and/or postgraduate education programs. • Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, residents, and other trainees. • Collaborate with faculty across departments and research centers. • Serve on departmental, institutional, and professional committees. • Contribute to the growth of the research and educational missions of LSU Health Shreveport.
