Oak Lane Christian Church is a loving, close-knit, and diverse community of believers in suburban Collierville, TN. Oak Lane is newer to our community, having moved from Memphis to Collierville in 2021. We are a mid-sized church, which makes us unique amongst our peers. Our worship is excellent, our gym is often busy, and our community events (Festivals, car show, Easter Egg Hunt) are always well received.
Collierville is known for small town charm, family-oriented community, parks, mid-to-upscale shopping, and our proximity to Memphis. Memphis is known for its historic significance in music, food, and culture

Position type: full-time
Oak Lane Christian Church is seeking a new full-time Associate Minister of Youth and Family. The Associate Minister of Youth and Family will provide spiritual leadership, vision, oversight, and pastoral care to Oak Lane's Youth, Children, and Family ministries. This individual will be passionate about helping others, specifically the future generations of the church, experience Jesus and grow in relationship with him. The Associate Minister will provide teaching, discipleship, meaningful relationship, and family engagement with our youth from birth through High School graduation. The Associate Minister will lead a ministry that equips and nurtures spiritual growth with our youth while engaging with their families.
Responsibilities include:
Leadership & Vision
- Develop a unified vision for the Children's, Youth, and Family ministries of Oak Lane in alignment with the broader church vision and mission
- Establish goals and objectives that support spiritual formation and discipleship from birth through high school graduation
- Schedule and facilitate the calendar and volunteer staffing for all Youth and Children's Ministry (birth-12th grade) programming, ensuring excellence and alignment with the mission of Oak Lane Christian Church
- Attend, as the primary leader and teacher, all youth events and classes
- Develop and maintain policies for the safety and protection of the ministry and those it serves, ensuring compliance to Oak Lane's policy handbook(s)
- Advocate for Children and Youth Ministry facilities and needs
Discipleship & Pastoral Care
- Teach and model a lifestyle of following Jesus, encouraging children and teens to live out their faith in everyday life
- Teach Jr-Sr High youth group classes and lead mid-week Youth Group meetings
- Provide pastoral care for parents, children, teens, and volunteers
- Establish a transition strategy between children and youth programming
- Provide parenting guidance and resources as well as encouragement for parents to disciple their children at home
- Preaching opportunities will be given in accordance with candidate's giftedness and church need
Volunteer Management
- Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, development, and scheduling
- Lead children and youth ministry volunteers by coaching, evaluating, teaching, and serving alongside them
Programming & Events
- Ensure alignment of teachers and curriculum with the theological convictions of Oak Lane Christian Church.
- Oversee and participate in the planning and implementation of the ongoing activities and events of the Children's, Youth, and Family Ministries
- Schedule, plan, and participate in both Youth and Children/Family Ministry outreach events in cooperation with other staff
- Participate in Church special events and services
Administration & Communication
- Maintain regular office hours as agreed upon with the Senior Minister
- Prepare and submit monthly report to the Elders
- Maintain an organized ministry calendar
- Manage the Youth and Family Ministry budget and ensure alignment with the church's mission, vision, and other ministry efforts
- Use modern tools (social media, email/text, and Church app) to promote ministry events and keep members informed
- All other duties as assigned
