Position Summary
A pivotal role in Aspire’s mission to provide integrated services, the Associate Medical Director for Psychiatry will work directly with the Medical leadership, leading, informing, and representing psychiatric medical staff within Aspire’s “whole health” care delivery system and continuum. This position will fulfill the role of medical director of Aspire’s Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) and work closely with primary care, nursing and other medical specialties. Working with leadership, this position will evaluate and consider actionable data; collaboratively determine patient outcomes to be targeted; develop processes of care that result in improved patient outcomes, and actively work toward integrated practices across the CMHC and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
Provide leadership as the Medical Director of the Behavioral Health Services provided by Aspire’s Community Mental Health Center (CMHC)
Work collaboratively with clinical leadership in developing, implementing and evaluating Aspire’s “whole person” care model
Work with clinical leadership to monitor quality measures for care providers, as well as standards for Aspire’s Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) certification
Provide leadership in the planning and implementation of clinical programs consistent with Aspire's mission and values
Participate as an active member of the leadership and clinical team in accordance with the by-laws of Aspire Indiana Health
Provide direct patient care services and coordinate care with other medical leadership, in accordance with the mission and goals of Aspire Indiana Health
Provide medical and clinical direction, supervision and training to psychiatric physicians and mid-level practitioners, including serving as a collaborator or consultative psychiatrist for primary care and mid-level psychiatric providers, including availability for consultation in patient care
Perform medical diagnosis and treatment for patients at Aspire Indiana Health in accordance with standards of psychiatry via in-person, virtual and telephonic services for routine, urgent, crisis, on call and consultation services
Prescribe medications for diagnosed psychiatric conditions that are in compliance with professional standards
Recommend appropriate referrals for specialty care, emergent care, or hospitalization for services not provided within Aspire Indiana Health
Education/Experience
MD/DO from an accredited School of Medicine or equivalent (FCFMG)
Minimum of five (5) years experience practicing medicine and at least two (2) years of leadership and clinical administrative experience required
Experience within a Community Mental Health Center setting preferred
Licensure
Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology required
Must be recognized as a Medical Doctor (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with Prescriptive Authority and possess an unlimited license to practice medicine in the State of Indiana
Possession of an X-waiver, highly preferred
Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate and State of Indiana Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Must meet credentialing requirements of affiliated hospitals and health system
