Associate Materials Engineer

1. Perform material testing protocols and data collection, as directed by senior lab personnel.

2. Perform testing on various instrumentation including FTIR, DSC, TGA, Instron, injection molding, etc.

3. Analyze and write accurate lab reports based on gathered data, including charts and pictures.

4. Development and implementation of new test methods for material characterization.

5. Serve as technical liaison between ORBIS cross-functional teams and suppliers for joint development opportunities related to materials.

6. Plan and carry out project responsibilities with limited direction.

7. Provide technical guidance to engineering, manufacturing, and other internal/external customers, as needed.

8. Engage employees in continuous quality process improvement activities.

9. Maintain organized sample storage areas.

10. Guide and support other lab personnel in lab, as needed.

11. Other duties as assigned.

Education/Certification
Level Required

Associate's Degree
Level Desired

Bachelor's degree specifically in science, math or engineering discipline

Work Experience

Required

• 1-2 years of related lab or plastics production experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced level of Excel

Desired

• 2+ years of related lab experience in previous employment
• Maintenance experience
