Build a Career. Learn the Business. Prepare to Lead.
If you’re looking for more than just another sales job, keep reading.
We’re looking for a motivated, goal-oriented professional who wants to learn the insurance business from the inside out — building sales skills, developing client relationships, learning how a successful agency operates, and preparing for greater leadership opportunities.
As an Associate Insurance Agent, you’ll receive hands-on training, coaching and real-world experience while working alongside experienced Farmers® Insurance professionals.
For the right person, this can be more than a job. It can be the beginning of a long-term career in insurance — with the opportunity to develop toward agency leadership and potential future agency ownership.
Compensation
$30,000–$60,000 Base Salary + Uncapped Commission + Performance Bonuses
Your earning potential doesn’t stop with your base salary. This role rewards performance, production and growth — giving motivated individuals the opportunity to directly impact their income as they develop their skills and build their business.
What You’ll Learn & Do
You won’t spend your days watching someone else work. You’ll be actively building the skills needed to succeed.
You will:
Who We’re Looking For
Insurance experience is helpful, but it is not the most important thing we’re looking for.
We’re looking for someone who is:
A Property & Casualty insurance license is required or must be obtained within the designated onboarding period. Additional licensing and professional development may be required as you advance.
Where Could This Lead?
That part is up to you.
Our goal is not simply to teach you how to sell an insurance policy. We want to help you understand sales, customer relationships, insurance, marketing, business development and agency operations.
High-performing individuals may have the opportunity to pursue additional Farmers® development programs and potentially work toward becoming a Farmers agency owner, subject to applicable eligibility, licensing, program and appointment requirements.
There is no guaranteed shortcut to ownership — but there is an opportunity to learn the business, prove what you can do and build toward something bigger.
You May Be a Great Fit If...
You’ve ever thought:
“I know I’m capable of more. I just need the right opportunity to prove it.”
You may come from insurance. Or sales. Banking. Hospitality. Automotive. Retail. Recruiting. Customer service. Management.
Your background matters less than what you bring with you:
Drive. Curiosity. Work ethic. Confidence. Accountability. And the desire to grow.
If you want a position where your effort, development and results can open doors, we want to meet you.
Apply today and start the conversation about where this career could take you.
Benefits & Growth Opportunities
In 1928, two men shared a dream of providing a quality insurance product at a reasonable price. In the decades that followed we’ve grown and adapted to meet the changing needs of Americans. But one constant has remained: We have an unwavering commitment to uphold our founding ideals to provide industry-leading products and first-rate services to the customers we’re privileged to serve.
Different Eras, Same Exceptional Service
Farmers not only prides itself on helping you plan wisely for the unexpected, but also on helping restore order when it occurs, so you can keep moving along the road of your life’s plans.
In 1959 a Farmers customer wrote us a letter of surprised gratitude when his car battery was replaced just an hour after it was stolen. A letter from a couple in 2002 wrote that their Farmers agent and Claims Adjuster “were exceptional in their handling of our grief, what we needed to do, and helpful in many other ways.” That same year, when Hurricane Rita struck Beaumont, Texas, Farmers sent 300 agents to assess damages while policy holders were evacuated. Farmers also donated $100,000 for the city’s emergency operations center and two megawatt generators that restored power to Beaumont. Whatever year or decade a disaster occurs, you can count on us to be there for you.
Today, the companies comprising the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies make up one of the country's largest insurers of vehicles, homes and small businesses and provide a wide range of other insurance and financial services products.
Farmers is proud to serve more than 10 million households with more than 20 million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of over 50,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 24,000 employees.
The Farmers Exchanges are three reciprocal insurers (Farmers Insurance Exchange, Fire Insurance Exchange and Truck Insurance Exchange) owned by their policyholders, and together with their subsidiaries and affiliates comprise the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies. Farmers Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries, in their capacity as attorneys-in-fact, provide administrative and management services to the Farmers Exchanges.
