Do you long for a deeper, more meaningful connection with the clients you serve? Are you feeling burnt out by the relentless hustle, packed schedules, and production-line feel of traditional clinical practice? Our exclusively mobile veterinarians bring compassionate, gentle end-of-life care directly to families' homes, providing pets with peace and dignity in the comfort of their most familiar surroundings. We are seeking a dedicated After Hours/Overnight veterinarian to join our compassionate team, providing attentive end-of-life care for pets in the Hampton Roads community.
For over 15 years, AAHA-accredited Hampton Roads Veterinary Hospice has been a trusted presence in our coastal Virginia community, walking alongside families with warmth, empathy, and deep respect for the bond they share with their pets. As part of the Caring Pathways Family of Practices, we share a culture rooted in genuine human connection, keeping our focus right where it belongs: on compassionate, individualized in-home care.
What makes joining this team truly special is the chance to work side-by-side with Dr. Tyler Carmack, our Director of Hospice and Palliative Care. A true pioneer in pet end-of-life care, Dr. Carmack brings hands-on mentorship, wisdom, and incredible heart to our daily work. Here, you’ll find a close-knit group of dedicated professionals who lean on each other, learn together, and treat every patient like family.
We enable our doctors to deliver excellent end-of-life medical care while serving families with authentic compassion. You will have the time and space to focus on the quality of heartfelt connections with families and their beloved pets. This particular shift allows for more scheduling control by the veterinarian, as well as the reward of being able to help families in a crisis that may not have another option.
We believe in rewarding your dedication. Compensation is tailored to your chosen schedule and workload. Our doctors earn a competitive salary plus production bonus compensation structure, alongside a comprehensive benefits package.
