Job Details

We are on the lookout for an experienced Associate General Counsel to join our growing tech organization. This position offers a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where new ideas are encouraged and collaboration is a must. This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide legal guidance and support to the executive team on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues, including corporate governance, intellectual property, and contract law.
2. Draft, review, negotiate and interpret a wide variety of contracts including software licensing agreements, vendor contracts, service agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
3. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies, and proactively identify and manage legal and regulatory risk.
4. Develop and implement legal strategies and policies to support business objectives, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
5. Strong emphasis on commercial work, including reviewing and negotiating complex MSAs and partnering closely with Sales.
6. Solid grounding in privacy fundamentals, including PII and identity-related considerations within agreements.
7. This role is expected to spend approximately 60–80% of time on client-facing commercial activities

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Must be a member in good standing with the state bar of California.
3. 10+ years of relevant legal experience, with experience in the technology industry or at a major law firm with tech client focus.
4. Demonstrable experience with legal documents, drafting, and negotiation.
5. Strong knowledge of technology law, intellectual property law, contract law, and/or corporate governance.
6. Excellent legal research and writing skills.
7. Startup-oriented mindset, meaning agile, proactive, collaborative, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment. Willing to roll up sleeves and operate hands-on across various responsibilities.
