Associate General Counsel, Private Funds
Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA (primarily on-site)
A leading alternative investment manager is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Private Funds to support its private funds platform focused on real estate and alternative investments. This role offers high visibility, close partnership with senior leadership, and exposure to complex fund and transactional work.
Key Responsibilities
Support private fund formation, structuring, and administration
Draft and negotiate offering documents, side letters, LP/JV agreements
Advise on fundraising, investor relations, and ongoing compliance
Provide transactional support for acquisitions, dispositions, and financings
Manage and oversee outside counsel; drive cost-effective workflows
Serve as a strategic legal advisor across investment and business teams
Ideal Candidate
5+ years of experience (open to senior candidates)
BigLaw and/or in-house background; private funds or investment management preferred
Experience with real estate, credit, or alternative investments
Active bar membership or in-house counsel registration; CA bar preferred
Strong judgment, fast learner, self-directed, high standards
Daily lunch stipend and catered meals as applicable
