Associate Director of Development & Annual Giving
Independent Elementary School, Los Angeles Area
A well-established independent elementary school in the Los Angeles area is hiring an Associate Director of Development & Annual Giving. This role owns the annual giving campaign from strategy through stewardship, including donor segmentation, solicitation calendars, gift acknowledgment, and reporting, while supporting major fundraising events, volunteer committees, and the school's broader philanthropic program. There is a clear path to a director-level role over the next several years as the development office builds bench strength.
Compensation: $90,000 to $120,000 base depending on education and experience, plus a sign-on bonus payable upon completion of the probationary period. Full benefits package including medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, and flexible PTO.
Location: 5 days onsite in North Hollywood, Los Angeles
What you'll do:
- Manage the annual fund campaign end to end, including strategy, timelines, solicitations, and campaign analysis
- Draft donor communications and stewardship materials, including appeals, acknowledgments, and impact reports
- Administer the development database and produce giving reports, dashboards, and campaign metrics
- Support signature fundraising events and alumni engagement
- Recruit and coordinate parent and volunteer fundraising committees
- Build relationships with parents, alumni, trustees, and friends of the school
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3-5+ years of progressively responsible fundraising, advancement, or nonprofit development experience; independent school experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated direct ownership of an annual giving or annual fund campaign, not just event or major-gifts support
- Experience with a fundraising CRM such as Veracross, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or Blackbaud
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of professionalism and discretion
- Willingness to work fully on-site, five days a week, with occasional evenings and weekends for events
