Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Provides strategic and operational leadership for occupancy management and housing assignments within Housing and Residence Life. Oversees occupancy planning, housing assignment processes, housing systems, and staff to ensure effective residential operations and a positive student experience. Directs occupancy forecasting, applications, assignments, waitlist administration, billing coordination, and key operational transitions. Leverages data, reporting, and process improvement initiatives to maximize housing utilization and enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supports the Director of Housing & Residence Life Operations in developing and implementing departmental occupancy management strategies and operational priorities

  2. Supervises Housing Coordinators and the Operations Analyst, including staff development, performance management, coaching, and ongoing training

  3. Oversees housing assignment processes including applications, room selection, room changes, waitlists, cancellations, and check-in/check-out procedures

  4. Ensures effective administration, configuration, testing, and operational integrity of housing management systems and related technologies

  5. Monitors occupancy trends, assignment data, and reporting metrics to support data-informed decision-making and occupancy optimization

  6. Oversees occupancy-related billing processes, including housing charges, cancellation fees, pro-rated billing, and reconciliation coordination with campus partners

  7. Ensures compliance with housing eligibility requirements, University policies, housing license agreements, and applicable regulatory standards

  8. Collaborates with Residence Life, Facilities, Operations, Enrollment Management, and other campus partners to support operational readiness and student success initiatives

  9. Supports the planning and execution of large-scale operational processes, including move-in, move-out, room turnover, and transition periods

  10. Assists with emergency response coordination and occupancy-related operational decision-making during critical incidents or campus disruptions

  11. Provides leadership for occupancy-related customer service practices and assists in resolving complex or escalated student and family concerns

  12. Serves as a subject matter expert for occupancy management policies, procedures, and system functionality

  13. Reviews operational processes to identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement and enhanced service delivery

  14. Develops reports, assessments, and recommendations related to occupancy performance, assignment trends, and operational outcomes

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Education Administration, or a related field.

Other Required Qualifications

Current, valid, and unrestricted drivers license

Required Experience

Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Housing and Residence Life or a related Student Affairs functional area.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications

An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Preferred Experience

Extensive experience with housing management systems (e.g., StarRez)

Strong background in occupancy planning, assignments, and housing operations

Experience working in a large, multi-facility or multi-campus residential environment

Previous experience supervising professional staff

Proposed Salary

The budgeted salary range is $73,160 - $87,000. Offers are based on relevant experience.
