Lead the end-to-end digital product experience for Medicare direct-to-consumer shopping and create seamless, measurable connections between web and mobile shoppers and UHC telesales.
This role leads Medicare direct-to-consumer digital sales as one connected journey across web, mobile, enrollment, and telesales, improving simplicity for consumers and effectiveness for sales teams.
The Associate Director, Direct-to-Consumer Digital Sales Product Leader will lead a portfolio of Medicare digital shopping products spanning web, mobile, shopping tools, enrollment pathways, and connections to internal UHC telesales. This leader will create a simpler experience for consumers who may begin independently online, seek expert help during the journey, complete enrollment digitally, or move between digital and phone-assisted experiences.
The role owns the full digital product lifecycle, including strategy, research, experience definition, product planning, backlog leadership, development, launch, adoption, optimization, and end-of-life decisions. The leader will coordinate closely with telesales operations and technology teams so digital and agent-assisted experiences operate as one connected journey rather than separate channels.
This is a senior digital product role for a customer-first leader who combines strategic product judgment, strong delivery discipline, digital and mobile expertise, commercial orientation, and the ability to influence complex cross-functional teams. Success requires anticipating consumer needs, solving complex experience and operational problems, and translating market and user insights into shipped products that improve shopping confidence, sales effectiveness, and channel performance.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
Digital Product Strategy & Lifecycle Leadership
Define and execute the strategy, vision, roadmap, and investment priorities for a portfolio of Medicare direct-to-consumer digital sales products
Lead the full product lifecycle from opportunity identification and concept definition through design, planning, production, release, optimization, and end-of-life decisions
Anticipate consumer and business needs and proactively develop digital solutions that improve shopping simplicity, confidence, access to assistance, and sales outcomes
Establish clear product principles, value propositions, target audiences, capabilities, performance expectations, and portfolio tradeoffs
Own or support assigned business cases, financial commitments, forecasts, resource plans, and product performance expectations
Recommend changes to the product portfolio that strengthen competitive position, consumer value, channel effectiveness, and sustainable performance
Connected Digital & Telesales Experience
Create seamless pathways between digital self-service and internal UHC telesales so consumers can move to human support without unnecessary repetition or loss of progress
Define the information, consent, context, preferences, completed steps, and next actions that should transfer into approved telesales workflows
Partner with telesales operations, sales leadership, CRM, telephony, analytics, training, quality, and workforce partners to coordinate the end-to-end experience
Lead product requirements for call initiation, callback, appointment scheduling, routing, browser or mobile-app-to-phone connections, and future digital-to-voice capabilities
Ensure the receiving agent has useful context and guidance while protecting privacy, security, compliance, and the consumer's ability to choose how to engage
Create shared digital and telesales measures that recognize the contribution of digital research and profile completion to agent-assisted outcomes
Consumer Research, Market Insight & Experience Design
Research market conditions, competitive experiences, consumer behavior, technology trends, and regulatory considerations to identify product opportunities
Partner with Research, Design, Analytics, Marketing, and Sales teams to understand consumer needs across new-to-Medicare, existing member, caregiver, and other relevant shopping journeys
Use qualitative research, product analytics, voice-of-customer feedback, call insights, and market evidence to inform present and future product direction
Determine product features and functions based on consumer needs, business strategy, operational feasibility, technical constraints, and measurable value
Champion accessible, mobile-responsive, plain-language experiences across web, iOS, Android, and relevant cross-platform or responsive frameworks
Ensure the digital experience supports consumers who want self-service as well as those who want licensed human guidance
Agile Product Delivery & Backlog Leadership
Lead cross-functional product delivery with Engineering, Architecture, Design, Research, Analytics, Operations, Marketing, Compliance, and business partners
Create and maintain product roadmaps, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, release plans, and prioritized backlogs
Provide decisive product direction on complex or critical issues, resolve ambiguity, and make transparent tradeoffs across scope, timing, quality, risk, and value
Review product and delivery work, provide recommendations for improvement, and authorize appropriate deviations from standards within established governance
Forecast capacity and resource requirements and partner with leaders to align funding, talent, technology, and operational readiness
Drive smaller releases, rapid feedback, disciplined experimentation, reliable production performance, and continuous improvement
Telesales Readiness, Coordination & Change Leadership
Coordinate digital product launches with telesales operational readiness, including process impacts, training needs, agent communications, support, monitoring, and feedback loops
Partner with telesales leaders to identify friction experienced by agents and consumers and translate those insights into digital, desktop, routing, or workflow improvements
Ensure digital changes account for call center capacity, seasonal readiness, channel responsibilities, escalation paths, and downstream servicing impacts
Create transparent operating rhythms that align digital product, telesales operations, technology, analytics, and sales leadership around shared outcomes
Motivate and inspire product and partner teams, explain complex issues clearly, and build commitment to a connected consumer and agent experience
Product Performance, Analytics & Commercial Accountability
Define and monitor product health and outcome measures across acquisition, engagement, task completion, shopping progression, enrollment, handoff, assisted conversion, agent efficiency, and consumer experience
Build measurement approaches that connect digital sessions with telesales interactions where approved data and identity capabilities permit
Use performance data, experimentation, consumer feedback, and contact-center insights to evaluate product functionality and prioritize improvements
Own or contribute to product financial performance, benefit realization, investment tracking, and executive portfolio reporting as assigned
Identify risks, underperformance, market shifts, and emerging opportunities and recommend corrective action
Prepare product documents and equip Sales, Marketing, Operations, and service partners with the product knowledge and technical context needed for launches and adoption
Governance, Compliance & Operational Excellence
Ensure products align with applicable CMS requirements, Medicare marketing guidance, privacy, security, accessibility, records, consent, communications, and internal policy standards
Partner with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Security, Architecture, and operational risk teams early in the lifecycle to resolve complex issues and support timely decisions
Define production readiness, monitoring, support, incident, recovery, and end-of-life expectations for the product portfolio
Balance speed and innovation with the reliability, accuracy, trust, and human support required for Medicare shopping and enrollment
Serve as a key resource for complex product, channel, consumer, and delivery issues and provide clear recommendations to senior leaders
Functional Leadership
May lead functional teams, segment initiatives, or complex programs and provide day-to-day direction to product managers, analysts, contractors, or matrixed partners
Coach team members in modern digital product practices, consumer-centered decision making, backlog quality, measurement, and executive communication
Review work performed by others and provide actionable recommendations that improve quality, clarity, and outcomes
Create an inclusive, accountable team environment that encourages curiosity, urgency, collaboration, and continuous learning
Influence across organizational boundaries and build durable partnerships without relying solely on direct authority
