    What you’ll be doing...

The Associate Director-Business Intelligence will lead the VCG Data Modernization and Intelligence team, driving end-to-end business transformation, automated data intake, and enterprise BI migration.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Designing and managing intake pipelines ("front door" processes) to centralize, prioritize, and govern incoming analytical project requests and data streams.
    • Directing large-scale BI modernization by migrating legacy reporting to cloud-native platforms (Looker, Qlik) and sunsetting redundant dashboard ecosystems.
    • Building, deploying, and leveraging AI agents and automated workflows to track migration statuses in Jira, convert script logic, and deliver executive updates.
    • Standardizing enterprise metrics into consolidated "gold source" data layers to establish single-source-of-truth semantic models across channels.
    • Driving team upskilling and organizational enablement by coaching business partners on self-service models, including building Looks from Explorers.

    Data Intake & Enterprise Modernization:

    • Partnering with cross-functional leaders to manage intake capacity, evaluate technical dependencies, and sequence modernization roadmaps.
    • Transforming multi-source raw feeds into scalable, production-ready cloud architectures across GCP and EDW platforms.
    • Auditing legacy report inventories based on usage, complexity, and overlap to execute targeted migration, consolidation, or archiving strategies.
    • Driving change management through hands-on training, technical documentation, and self-service BI governance.
    • Establishing executive reporting cadences to present weekly migration velocity, program milestones, and risk mitigation strategies.

    What we’re looking for...

You are self-motivated, curious, and take significant initiative in a demanding, fast-paced technical transformation role. You possess strong data architecture and project leadership skills with a passion for modernizing legacy stacks. The successful candidate manages complex intake requests and enterprise migrations concurrently without sacrificing quality or system stability. You are an innovative leader who actively leverages AI tools to automate workflows and drive operational efficiency.

    You’ll need to have:

    • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
    • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
    • Experience establishing project intake ("front door") workflows and managing delivery pipelines via Jira.
    • Experience with cloud environments (GCP, Data Warehouses) and modern BI platforms (Looker, Qlik, Tableau).
    • Experience in KPI governance, semantic layer modeling, and user enablement/training.
    • Willingness to travel up to 15%%.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

    • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a technical discipline.
    • Experience deploying generative AI tools or custom AI agents to automate developer tasks, script conversion, and project tracking.
    • Experience in legacy report migration, dashboard consolidation, and platform sunsetting execution.
    • Verizon Consumer Group (VCG) operations or systems experience.
    • Technical proficiency in LookML, SQL, Python, R, or pipeline automation scripting.
    • Experience integrating machine learning or predictive AI models directly into cloud data transformation pipelines.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
