Join Amazons Legal Department as an Associate Corporate Counsel supporting AWSs transformative work in cloud infrastructure and sustainability. Youll provide strategic legal guidance to our global energy and water teams as we partner with utilities, build new infrastructure, and pioneer carbon-free energy solutions aligned with The Climate Pledge-our commitment to achieve net zero carbon by 2040.

Key job responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to energy procurement, utility infrastructure and services, and infrastructure development projects
  • Provide legal counsel on regulatory compliance and energy and utility law across multiple jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with business, engineering, and project management teams to identify legal implications and develop solutions for complex transactions
  • Maintain legal documentation, track regulatory developments, and communicate updates to stakeholders

A day in the life As an Associate Corporate Counsel supporting AWSs energy and water initiatives, youll navigate complex legal landscapes while helping shape the future of sustainable infrastructure. Your day might include drafting and negotiating utility agreements, reviewing contracts for renewable energy projects, or advising on regulatory compliance for innovative carbon-free energy pilots. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, project managers, and business leaders to identify legal risks and opportunities. Beyond routine legal work, youll contribute to strategic initiatives that advance our sustainability goals, working on matters that span multiple jurisdictions and require creative problem-solving.
