Our client, a leading provider of comprehensive mental health services within a multi-cultural urban setting, is hiring an Associate Chief of Behavioral Health Ambulatory Services, Psychiatry. This critical leadership role oversees the administration, planning, and management of outpatient adult psychiatric services, including clinics, community programs, and innovative initiatives such as transitional housing and womens mental health services. The ideal candidate will contribute to the expansion and enhancement of psychiatric care delivery, mentor future psychiatrists, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams within a supportive academic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate outpatient adult mental health services, including clinics, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) programs, and collaborative care initiatives with primary care providers.
- Manage program development and ensure adherence to clinical quality standards across all ambulatory services.
- Oversee implementation of new initiatives such as Bridge to Home (transitional housing) and Womens Mental Health services integrated with OB/GYN.
- Serve as Associate Program Director for the psychiatry residency program, supporting resident education and clinical training.
- Collaborate with hospital administration, faculty, and community partners to optimize mental health service delivery.
- Participate in strategic planning, resource allocation, and staff development efforts.
Requirements:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in psychiatry.
- Valid New York State medical license, DEA, and Medicaid number.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in outpatient psychiatric care, with demonstrated leadership in ambulatory care settings.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and oversee complex programs.
- Experience in residency training, medical education, and academic settings is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Prior management experience within academic medical centers or public health systems is preferred.
- Willingness to engage in clinical work and participate actively in resident mentoring.
- Additional certification in related specialties or experience with innovative mental health initiatives would be advantageous.
