GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under supervision of the Manager of Spiritual Care, and according to established policies and procedures of the hospital, the Associate Chaplain provides spiritual care to patients and families and participates as a member of the health care team caring for patients, families, and staff. Associate Chaplains visit in-patients as requested during their designated shift.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess and manage spiritual concerns of patients, families and healthcare colleagues.
Function collaboratively with peers and other interdisciplinary professionals
Respond to codes and crisis situations in ED and critical care units.
Document spiritual care assessments and interventions as completed
Perform religious rituals as requested by patients/family
Weekend and on call duties
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education
Bachelor's degree in theology, Pastoral Ministry or related field.
Two years of relevant ministry experience preferred
