Job Details

A nationally respected law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate with approximately 3-5 years of experience to join its New York office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated corporate restructuring and insolvency matters as part of a highly collaborative team.

The ideal candidate will have experience representing clients in complex restructuring matters, including Chapter 11 proceedings, distressed transactions, and bankruptcy litigation. This role offers substantial client contact, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to work directly with experienced partners on high-profile engagements.

Responsibilities
Represent clients in complex Chapter 11 reorganizations, restructurings, and related insolvency proceedings.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings.
Participate in court appearances, hearings, negotiations, and case strategy.
Advise clients on restructuring alternatives, distressed transactions, and insolvency-related issues.
Manage multiple matters simultaneously while working collaboratively with attorneys across practice groups.
Conduct legal research and prepare strategic recommendations for clients facing complex financial and operational challenges.
Qualifications
3-5 years of bankruptcy, restructuring, or insolvency experience with a law firm.
Experience handling Chapter 11 matters and bankruptcy court proceedings.
Strong legal writing, analytical, research, and advocacy skills.
Ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills.
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Admission to the New York Bar (or ability to obtain admission promptly).
Judicial clerkship experience is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

Outstanding academic credentials and strong written and verbal communication skills
Relevant law firm experience in restructuring or bankruptcy required
J.D. required and must be admitted to the NY Bar or MA Bar
