The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years experience with government, political, regulatory, or similar work or a demonstrated interest in political law. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly-functioning practice to gain experience and receive meaningful mentorship while working on interesting legal issues for a variety of clients.ResponsibilitiesResearch legal issues and offer guidance on federal, state, and local campaign finance, lobbying, and ethics lawsProvide advice and counsel on the formation and maintenance of ballot measure and independent expenditure committeesAssist with the preparation of campaign finance and lobbying reportsPresent on political law compliance issues in client trainings, seminars and conferencesAdvise on nonprofit compliance and governance issuesQualificationsStrong academic credentials (top 20%)Outstanding research and writing skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsA member in good standing with the California BarNational candidates encouraged to applyCompensation range is $160,000 to $200,000+, based on factors including local market data, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, longevity, and relevant degrees, licensing and certifications. Discretionary bonus.
