Description
Solo law firm seeks Associate Attorney to join the expanding practice. Practice areas include Commercial, Real Estate, and Municipal litigation. The ideal candidate will be a recent law school graduate or an Associate Attorney with 0-2 years of experience, barred in NY (or pending admission) and looking to be a big part of a small team. Hours are Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm. Salary depends on experience, plus bonus. Company offers stipend for health plan and PTO.
Responsibilities:
Assist with all phases of commercial, real estate, and municipal litigation.
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and correspondence.
Assist with discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests and reviewing documents.
Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations.
Review and analyze contracts, real estate documents, municipal records, and other legal materials.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, municipalities, and other involved parties.
Assist with case strategy, factual development, and preparation of matters for trial.
Manage assigned matters and deadlines with appropriate supervision and direction.
Perform other legal and administrative duties as necessary to support the firm's practice.
