(QPWB), a multi-office national defense firm and the largest minority owned law firm in the United States, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Memphis office. This is a full-time, in-office position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

    About the Role

    We are seeking an Associate Attorney with approximately 3 years of litigation experience to join our growing Memphis office. While experience in defense litigation is preferred, we are open to attorneys from a variety of practice areas who demonstrate strong litigation skills, excellent legal writing abilities, and a desire to grow their practice within a collaborative team environment.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to expand their experience, take on meaningful responsibility, and work alongside experienced litigators representing a diverse client base.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage an active caseload through all phases of litigation
    • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents
    • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
    • Prepare and respond to written discovery
    • Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and court appearances
    • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and team members
    • Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial
    • Ensure compliance with court deadlines and client reporting requirements
    • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to provide exceptional client service

    Qualifications

    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
    • Active member in good standing with the Tennessee Bar (or ability to become admitted promptly)
    • Approximately 3 years of litigation experience
    • Defense litigation experience preferred, but attorneys from other litigation practice areas are encouraged to apply
    • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
    • Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
    • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
