    Associate Attorney (Civil Litigation) – Hybrid

    Location: Hartford, CT, USA

    Salary: $105,000–$130,000 per year

    Overview


    A full-time Associate Attorney position is available in Hartford, CT, focusing on civil litigation. Candidates should have 3–8 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or a closely related practice area. This role provides opportunities to work on complex cases in areas such as professional liability, construction, employment, medical malpractice defense, and long-term care.

    Position Summary


    You will manage your own caseload from inception to conclusion, handling all aspects of litigation. Responsibilities include:

    • Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
    • Preparing for and attending depositions, hearings, and trials.
    • Collaborating with clients, experts, and other attorneys to develop case strategies.
    • Providing regular updates and written reports to clients.
    • Conducting comprehensive legal research and preparing memoranda.
    • Working alongside senior attorneys to ensure effective and efficient case management.


    Key Qualifications


    • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
    • Admission to the Connecticut State Bar or eligibility via adequate UBE score.
    • 3–8 years of litigation experience (insurance defense experience preferred).
    • Clerkship experience considered a plus.
    • Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions.
    • Strong legal research, discovery, and advocacy skills.
    • Experience participating in mediations, arbitrations, trials, and hearings.
    • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication.
