What you will be doing:- Manage a full caseload of family law matters from initial consultation through resolution and trial.
- Handle divorce and other family law matters independently, with the ability to hit the ground running and manage an existing caseload.
- Meet with clients to evaluate legal issues, develop case strategies, and provide ongoing legal counsel.
- Draft and review pleadings, petitions, motions, declarations, settlement agreements, discovery, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and develop effective case strategies.
- Manage all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
- Represent clients in hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings.
- Handle depositions and other litigation-related proceedings.
- Prepare cases for trial and serve as lead or supporting counsel during trial.
- Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to effectively manage a high-volume caseload and achieve favorable client outcomes.
Experience you will need:- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license and good standing with the Washington State Bar, or ability to obtain admission promptly.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent, dedicated Family Law experience; 3–7 years is preferred.
- Strong experience handling divorce and other family law matters, including hearings and trials.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage a family law caseload and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong courtroom, litigation, negotiation, and client counseling skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and case management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing a significant caseload.
- Attorneys with more than 7 years of experience are welcome to apply if they have strong, recent Family Law experience and are able to manage cases independently.
