Associate Attorney (Estate Planning & Probate)

Estate Planning & Probate Law firm is seeking an early-career Associate Attorney to join our Gainesville office and build a career in estate planning, probate, and probate litigation.

This is a structured, hands-on development role for an attorney who wants strong mentorship, meaningful client interaction, and the opportunity to grow into independently managing cases over time.

Prior experience in our practice areas is helpful, but not required. We are much more interested in finding someone with strong judgment, maturity, initiative, and exceptional client-service skills.

What You'll Do

Initially, you'll work closely with experienced attorneys while learning the firm's systems, clients, and practice areas.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing estate-planning matters after client engagement, including client follow-up and coordinating document preparation
• Supporting attorneys with probate and probate-litigation matters
• Drafting motions, correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents
• Conducting legal research and preparing practical written analyses
• Communicating directly with clients and helping put them at ease
• Assisting with case preparation, document review, and matter management
• Using AI tools professionally and responsibly to improve efficiency and work quality
• Taking on increasingly complex responsibilities as your skills develop

For the right person, this role can grow into managing matters from intake through resolution, developing client relationships, and eventually handling business development or sales responsibilities if desired.

What We're Looking For

• Active Florida Bar membership or pending admission
• Strong academic performance, generally a B average or better
• Genuine interest in estate planning, probate, and related work
• Excellent communication and client-service skills
• Mature, professional, and able to work well with attorneys, paralegals, leadership, and clients
• Strong judgment and problem-solving ability
• Organized, proactive, and resourceful
• Comfortable receiving feedback and asking questions
• AI fluent or highly motivated to become AI fluent
• Willing to live in or relocate to Gainesville, Florida

Experience demonstrating strong customer service, teamwork, leadership, judgment, or use of technology is a significant plus, even if that experience was outside the legal field.

• Base salary of $70,000–$85,000, depending on experience
