A growing law firm is expanding its Auto Negligence/Special Investigations Unit (SIU) team and is seeking a motivated Defense Litigation Attorney to join its legal team. This position offers the opportunity to manage a caseload of complex litigation cases, work closely with an experienced Partner, and play a key role in litigation strategy and client representation.
The ideal candidate will have experience defending clients in litigation matters, including personal injury, medical malpractice, and insurance defense. This role provides a clear path for professional growth and career advancement within a dynamic and expanding office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle a high-volume caseload of complex litigation cases from inception through trial or settlement
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance to clients
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents
- Conduct depositions, prepare witnesses, and represent clients in court
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution proceedings
- Maintain professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts
- Stay up to date on legal developments, laws, and regulations
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Florida Bar
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent legal research and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload
- Proven success in complex litigation and client representation
- Knowledge of insurance laws, regulations, and legal precedents
- Experience with alternative dispute resolution (mediation and arbitration) is a plus
