SUMMARY

The Associate Advisor plays a critical role in supporting Financial Advisors and the broader planning team by delivering high-quality financial planning, client service, and analytical support. This role is designed for an early-career advisor who is building technical expertise, client-facing skills, and a strong understanding of Allworth Financial’s planning philosophy and business model, with a long-term path toward becoming a Lead Advisor.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Financial Advisors in the preparation, development, and implementation of comprehensive financial plans for clients
  • Participate in client meetings by shadowing and, over time, actively contributing to discussions and follow-ups
  • Conduct financial analysis, research, and casework related to investments, retirement planning, tax strategies, estate planning, and risk management
  • Prepare client-facing materials, meeting summaries, and plan updates
  • Assist with ongoing client communication and service requests in a timely, professional manner
  • Collaborate with internal teams (planning, operations, investment management, and client service) to deliver a seamless client experience
  • Gain exposure to Allworth Financial’s full business model through cross-functional learning and shadowing opportunities
  • Attend firm-sponsored meetings, workshops, and training sessions
  • Actively pursue professional development, including progress toward CFP® certification

 

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • Progress toward or strong interest in obtaining the CFP® designation
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and desire to grow as a financial advisor
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Proficiency or ability to quickly learn financial planning software and internal systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
  • Ability to attend in-person meetings and events as required
