Are you a ready for a new challenge? We are looking for key contributor to expand and steward Mercy Housing's (Chicago Region) corporate and foundation fundraising through grants, including research, writing, and submission of grant proposals. Coordinate stewardship of grant funds; and building relationships with grantor prospects and donors.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Prefer candidates in the Chicago area.

PAY: $80,000 - $90,000 / salary

Duties

  • Write and prepare submission of foundation and corporate grant proposals as well as government-funded Resident Services contracts.
  • With Regional Leadership, establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective corporate and foundation grant donors through face-to-face meetings, site visits, and other communications.
  • Manage and provide reports on grants to grantors and contracting agencies as required.
  • Steward, manage, and be accountability for grant-funded projects.
  • Manage the research and identification of corporate and foundation funding prospects to expand and develop a pipeline of current and prospective corporate and foundation donors.
  • Collaborate with Resident Service and Real Estate Development staff to support evidence-based program design, program budgets, creation of logic models, and establishment of meaningful goals and outcomes for specific grant opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications of Position

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of experience in prospect research, grant writing and management, and donor communication.

Preferred Qualifications of Position

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Superior organizational skills and close attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Black baud database management programs (Raiser's Edge), prospecting tools and the Internet.
  • Work with a participative style of decision-making.
