Assistant Warehouse Operations Manager - Final Mile

Your role on the team: 

  • Hires and manages the Operations Supervisor role.
  • Has direct reports and is responsible for supervisory duties and/or has significant input in employment decisions, such as: hiring, firing, training, coaching, directing and evaluating the work of subordinates, disciplinary action, timekeeping approval, etc.
  • Manages the loadout operations, ensuring trucks are staged, scanned, and dispatched on time each morning.
  • Conducts daily stand-up meetings with independent contractors to review routes, expectations, safety, and service standards.
  • Responsible for and management of the recruitment of independent contractors and contractor companies to maintain capacity across assigned markets.
  • Manages dispatch operations throughout the day, including route monitoring, exception handling, and real-time communication with drivers.
  • Resolves client and customer issues, serving as the on-site point of escalation for delivery, damage, and service concerns.
  • Manages driver end-of-day check-in, including paperwork review, undelivered product reconciliation, and the product returns process.
  • Manages procurement and supply ordering (operational consumables, packaging, uniforms, small equipment) within budget.
  • Manages invoicing, reconciliation, and independent contractors pay validating settlement data, researching discrepancies, supporting weekly contractor payments.
  • May manage an inbound and outbound warehouse operation.
  • Establishes and maintains a strong positive relationship with the client.
  • May make recommendations to management pertaining to related work processes, practices, resolution of issues, etc.
