This is a full-time position that works Monday – Friday 8:30a -5:30p. The pay is $16.50 -17 per hour depending on experience and credentials. This role is onsite at our center: 1118 W Oak Ridge Rd, Orlando, FL 32809


The Assistant VPK Teacher coordinates engaging developmental activities, implements curriculum that prepares children for school, and enhances their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills.  The Assistant Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Teacher serves as a model and mentor.  In this role you’ll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, and support the growth and success of children.

What You’ll Do:
•    Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
•    Lead by example and encourage success through modeling and coaching
•    Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth
•    Follow all facility policies and state regulations
•    Maintain a personal and professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement

What We Need from You:
•    High school diploma / GED, or degree in related field of study required
•    Minimum of 1 year of professional early childhood education or experience
•    FL DCF 45 hours required 
•    Willingness to complete National CDA within 90 days of employment
•    Willingness to complete VPK Endorsement within 60 days of hire

•    Must clear a full level II background check
•    Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills
•    Strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where students are engaged and encouraged to succeed
•    Effective in communicating with both students and adults to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns
