Essential Job Functions
Description of Job Function
Provides strategic leadership and oversight for the College's integrated communications channels, audience engagement, and marketing operations functions. Aligns related strategies, programs, and services with the College's mission, Strategic Impact Plan and institutional priorities.
Leads the development, implementation and evaluation of integrated paid, earned, shared and owned media strategies. Establishes audience, channel, sequencing and distribution approaches that strengthen engagement, support enrollment and institutional objectives and protect and advance the College's reputation.
Leads assigned Channels & Engagement and Hub teams, including leaders responsible for public relations, digital strategy, social media, advertising and promotion, marketing operations, workflow, insights and performance.
Oversees the Hub as the central operating and coordination function for Marketing & Strategic Communications. Establishes and continuously improves division wide systems, processes, standards, and operating procedures that support effective intake, prioritization, workflow, resource coordination, project visibility, and accountability.
Coordinates division-wide planning, prioritization, and performance in partnership with the Senior Director, Content Studio, connecting institutional needs and audience and channel strategies with content planning and production.
Partners with the Chief Communications Officer to translate institutional priorities into coordinated communications and marketing action. Integrates audience needs, stakeholder context, channel considerations, operational capacity, and performance information into recommendations, plans, and resource decisions.
Provides strategic guidance to Marketing & Strategic Communications operations during urgent, sensitive or high-visibility situations and supports continuity of operations when the Chief Communications Officer is unavailable. Organizes cross-functional response, anticipates communications and reputational risks, and elevates matters requiring executive or institutional judgment.
Leads the development of performance measures for communications and marketing initiatives. Integrates qualitative and quantitative information across channels and functions to evaluate effectiveness, identify trends, and inform strategy, prioritization, and resource allocation.
Oversees regular reporting, assessment, and continuous improvement. Provides data-informed recommendations to the Chief Communications Officer and College leaders to strengthen communications and marketing strategies, processes, and outcomes.
Builds collaborative relationships with college leaders and partners to understand institutional needs, provide strategic consultation and coordinate effective communications and marketing support. Leads selected cross-functional initiatives and represents Marketing & Strategic Communications on institutional committees and planning groups, as assigned.
Guides, evaluates, and delegates work to assigned leaders and employees. Completes the performance management process according to college policy and established timelines. Coaches and develops staff, supports program improvements and encourages professional growth, collaboration and accountability.
Develops and manages assigned budgets and resources. Evaluates staffing, technology, vendor, and operational needs and recommends resource allocations aligned with institutional priorities, expected outcomes, and sustainable team capacity.
Ensures assigned communications, marketing, and operational functions adhere to applicable laws, regulations, institutional policies, accessibility requirements, brand standards, and professional practices. Maintains awareness of emerging practices and changes affecting areas of responsibility.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Required Minimum Education Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions. Required Field of Study
Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
Other Required Qualifications
Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing, public relations, digital engagement, communications operations, or a related field, including leadership responsibilities.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing, implementing, and evaluating integrated communications or marketing strategies.

General Working Conditions
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending/descending, lifting/moving objects weighing between 5-15 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus.
