Position Announcement

Join Utah Valley University and help shape the experiences of future Wolverines through one of the universitys premier student leadership programs. As the Ambassador Program Assistant, youll play an important role in supporting scholarship student leaders and Ambassador Managers who represent UVU to prospective students and their families. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful recruitment and engagement efforts while helping create memorable experiences that connect students with the university and its opportunities.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys program coordination, event planning, leadership development, and working in a collaborative campus environment. Youll gain hands-on experience in managing program operations, supporting training initiatives, coordinating admissions events, and assisting with budgeting and reporting. By helping maintain a high-impact leadership program, youll directly contribute to UVUs mission of student success while building valuable professional skills in higher education, program management, and student engagement.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Program Oversight: Assists the Ambassador Program Director in managing all aspects of the program, including recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and mentoring scholarship students and part-time Ambassador Managers. Provides ongoing support to ensure the success and satisfaction of all program participants.
  • Project and Task Support: Oversees ambassador functions and supports the Program Director on various projects and tasks.
  • Communication and Marketing: Develops and implements strategies to attract prospective students. Assists in creating and delivering presentations for program training initiatives and campaigns.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensures the quality of Ambassador Team Meetings and Tours through monthly evaluations. Leads the Ambassador Project Lead team in organizing and conducting weekly meetings.
  • Event Planning and Management: Supports the development and planning of Admissions Recruitment events, including budget management, staffing, and event logistics.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Ensures timely, organized, and accurate documentation of program activities, functions, and metrics for prospective student outreach. Compiles and delivers regular, detailed reports on recruitment events, budget utilization, meeting agendas and minutes, and ROI for admissions strategies.
  • Budget Management: Assists in monitoring and managing the budget for the Ambassador Program. Develops and maintains accurate records of budget allocations and expenditures.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with an associates degree and two years of professional experience in a related discipline or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.

For Example:

  • Associates degree in a related field and two years of related professional experience (2 years of education + 2 years of experience = 4 years total).
  • OR four years of directly related professional experience.
  • OR one year of college coursework in a related field and three years of related professional experience.
  • OR any other combination of related education and professional experience totaling four years.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year of experience with student leadership programs in higher education and/or higher education recruitment practices in the state of Utah.

About Company

Utah Valley University was established in 1941 as Central Utah Vocational School (CUVS) with the primary function of providing war production training. CUVS was part of the Provo School District located in south Provo. The institution received a state appropriation in March 1945 of $50,000 to operate for the 1945-1947 biennium. In 1947, the school received funding as a permanent state institution. A new site for the school was acquired on University Avenue in Provo in 1948; in the 1952, the state appropriated funding for the first construction on that site. As enrollments grew, the state acquired over 185 acres in southwest Orem and the first building was completed in 1977. Today, the University’s facilities consist of a combined total of 412 acres with 50 buildings with campuses in Orem, Provo, and Heber City and property in Vineyard and at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi.
