    Title: Assistant Teaching Professor of Neuroscience

    Position Summary

    Elon University invites applications for a full-time (9-month) teaching position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor of Neuroscience, beginning mid-August 2027. We welcome applications from broadly trained individuals with a terminal degree in Neuroscience, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related fields. The candidate will be housed in the department of Exercise Science. Applicants should hold a Master’s degree or higher prior to the start date.


    A strong candidate will be able to teach our core neuroscience courses, neuroscience-specific Research Methods coursework currently under development, and courses within the Exercise Science curriculum. The candidate will also have opportunities to develop new courses to support the Neuroscience and Exercise Science programs as well as courses in University-wide programs, such as the Elon Core Curriculum.

    We are especially interested in candidates with experience teaching a variety of neuroscience laboratory methods and candidates that can contribute to community outreach through exercise neuroscience programming and activities.

    Minimum Required Education and Experience

    Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    Experience teaching a variety of neuroscience methods; experience leading community outreach opportunities within the discipline; experience as instructor of record in disciplinary courses
