The Department of Chemistry at Syracuse University invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor to teach introductory chemistry courses, starting in fall 2027. This position is initially a three-year appointment with the possibility of renewal. Syracuse University has a promotion structure for Teaching Professors, with Associate Teaching Professors and Full Teaching Professors being eligible for renewable contracts of up to five years. Teaching Professors are full members of the departmental and university community and are eligible to vote on department, college and university decisions, excluding tenure-track faculty hiring and promotion and tenure decisions.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field and relevant teaching experience.
Job Specific Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching large introductory chemistry courses.
