The University of Southern Mississippi invites applicants for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Teaching Professor/Business, Education, and Human Sciences Librarian in the University Libraries Gulf Coast Library to begin in the fall of 2026.

A completed application will include a cover letter describing applicant strengths and qualifications for the position, curriculum vitae, academic transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable; official transcripts are necessary for hire), and contact information for three professional references.

Job Summary
The Business, Education, and Human Sciences Librarian is a member of a team responsible for providing general and specialized research, instruction, outreach, and collection development services. The position serves as University Libraries' (UL) primary contact with the College of Business and Economic Development, supporting instructional and research resource needs on the Hattiesburg and Long Beach campuses. The position serves as the primary contact between UL and Gulf Coast programs in the College of Education and Human Sciences, supporting instructional and research resource needs. The position engages in outreach initiatives that build awareness of library resources and services. Actively cultivating relationships with faculty, staff, and students in assigned academic areas is required. The primary office will be at Gulf Coast Library in Long Beach, MS. Some travel between the Long Beach and Hattiesburg campuses is required.
